Edward Sharpe And The Magnetic Zeros - Man On Fire

Fun fact about the band Edward Sharpe And The Magnetic Zeros: Nobody in the band is actually named Edward Sharpe. Your guess is as good as mine as to who Edward Sharpe is. Maybe someone can enlighten me. Anyway, if you like folksy acoustic songs, you're really going to like this song.

Man On Fire is a new song from the band's upcoming new album entitled Here to be released May 29, 2012. Starting off a bit slow, this song really picks up steam midway through and hits a high note. This is just a good all around song that you should listen to. Check out below:

The Shins - September

A few weeks back, The Shins released Simple Song, a single from the band's upcoming album called Point of Morrow. Today, it's B-side track, September, has been released in a visual format. September is an acoustic guitar song with lead singer James Mercer's vocals driving the song. Watch the video above to hear the song. The album is due out on March 20.

New: Jack White - Love Interruption

Just announced today, Jack White (he of White Stripes fame) will be releasing his debut solo album in April entitled Blunderbuss. The first single from the album is called Love Interruption. There's a nice blend of genres going on here. There's some good acoustic guitar work with background electronic piano simultaneously playing, with a touch of blues. White's vocals are strong and the song overally is pretty catchy. Take a listen to Love Interruption below:

Mike Posner - Stay Schemin (featuring Blackbear) (Acoustic Cover)

Mike Posner and Blackbear take the controversial track by Rick Ross, Drake, and French and give it a brand new acoustic outfit.

J Mascis - I've Been Thinking

Earlier this year, J Mascis, lead singer of Dinosaur Jr., released an acoustic solo album called Several Shades of Why. Mascis' solo album is an acoustic album with no other instruments used. That's a pretty big shift in sound because Dinosaur Jr. is a rock band, and at times, a heavy rock band. I've Been Thinking is a folksy acoustic affair, part melancholic and part nostalgic. It's got a catchy riff and solid vocals from Mascis. This song is a B-side from the album and is out today as a 7" from Subpop. Check out the song below and download it as well:

Daughter - Love

I tried my best to describe Daughter's (Elena Tonra) beautiful voice back when I covered her track "Landfill". Her latest drop "Love" is less overwhelming but still beautiful on a more low key note. It's a freebie from her 4 track EP The Wild Youth which drops on November 21.

Daughter Love

Daughter - Landfill

Beautiful lyrics with chilling acoustics make this song a must have. Landfill does a great job of giving Daughter a chance to showcase her versatile and angst filled vocals. The rest of the tracks on His Young Heart are just as enchanting but Landfill has this contradicting storyline that really speaks out to me.
