New: Tyga - Still Got it (featuring Drake)

"Still Got It" was a throw away track by Drake that leaked over a year ago, it resurfaced a couple days ago via DJ Clue on the radio but this time with new additions by Tyga. I wanted to wait for the CDQ to post it. It's always nice to see a track finally make it as a single or even just become affiliated with an official project. This one wound up being Tyga's first single from his upcoming album Careless World.

Production by 40 and Supa Dups. I threw up the original demo for kicks.

New: Drake - Club Paradise

New Drizzy Drake Rogers dropped today. This songs reminds me so much of Thank Me Later. At the same time though there's a lot of contrast because the writing is definitely a notch above. I wasn't so hot on it during the first listen but really felt it the second time around. There are supposed to be two more tracks dropping tonight, I might do separate posts or throw them onto this. Either ways expect a Drake takeover on The Quiet Floor. Sorry Karim.

This one is rumoured to be confirmed on Take Care. Rumoured to be confirmed.. don't ask me how that works.

Dropping this for our boy Avery...this was his favorite shit during the recording process.

New: Drake - Trust Issues

Drake's been going hard on that purple huh? He took a little bit from I'm On One and mixed it with a new perspective. I like the end product. The image that accompanied his post though.. Congrats to Drake on receiving the Hal David Starlight Award at the 42nd Annual Songwriters Hall of Fame gala.

Did my own little thing using some other thing I did. You know.

New: Drake - Marvin's Room

This day couldn't be off to a better start with some brand new Drizzy to top it all off. Things get a little emotional and dark in this one. Production by 40 but I think the piano in the outro features Chilly Gonzales, maybe a sample?

Take Care's first single is coming out in July, with an official release date of October 24 (his birthday).

The Weeknd - Wicked Games & The Morning

My friend Michael P. hooked me up with this one. This is some dope stuff. I'm very picky when it comes to my R&B and it's not a genre that I usually indulge in but The Weeknd has a sound that can't exactly be placed with the rest of R&B music. They incorporated a mixture of blues, electronic, hip-hop and then poured 2 cups of smooth over it all.

After listening to a couple tracks something about their sound sounded very familiar. It was very Drake-like if I may. So I did some more research. It turns out the two artist have a lot in common: Both are from Toronto, both have the same sound engineer 40 behind their music, and both are part of the OVO click. Don't be surprised if the two begin collaborating in the near future. They are very young right now, no official mixtapes or anything out so stay posted for future releases.
