You guys should know by now that one of my favorite recipes for a rap song starts of with a heavy splash of indie. The two genres are so distinct, yet personally, it's almost like they were made for each other. Which brings me to the current artist on hand, Jez Dior. I listened to this song a few times before seeing the video which very much surprised me after seeing his image. Skinny jeans, American flag t-shirt, and a haircut that I couldn't even take a guess at naming. But the lyrical delivery, production quality, and video direction are clearly presented with the intention to be taken very serious - this had me a little confused.
It wasn't until I thought of how genres so distinct can make such perfect sense together that I realized Jez hit the bullet right on the mark. I can't wait to hear the rest of his sound on his upcoming mixtape Scarlett Sage.
