YYou x Miike Snow - Crash + Javelin

July 5, 2012

I swear every time I played Happy 2 You by Miike Snow I kept saying how perfect the songs could be for a Hip-Hop song (with a little work of course). Well it turns out that I wasn't the only one, luckily they can rap better than me too. YYou is an upcoming rapper who really seems to have an open mind to how to approach the game. Pairing with Jonathan Lee's production was also pretty damn good decision, the beats alone make for great remixes.

The original plan was to do a whole EP but the idea didn't end up materializing. Thankfully he was able to get a track over "The Wave" done before that happened. It's titled "Crash" (on repeat), and is about the consequences of the ill choices that we make in which end up costing us the world.

YYou could have easily just made a simple rap song, put Miike Snow's name in bold letters, and distributed. But these songs each have a real story and meaning, making them much more memorable. I'm a fan. You can check out his other work on his SoundCloud.
